Dear Grantee Partners,
As we head into 2025, we anticipate uncertainty, challenges, and opportunities. But some things remain certain: your commitment to your work, our commitment to your mission, and our shared belief that a much better present and future grounded in equity and justice are possible! Each of you has exemplified what it means to build community power, to disrupt institutional inequities, and stay committed to the work of transforming and creating key systems.
This year will demand not just our attention, but our courage, wisdom, and unity. It calls the Memorial Fund to heighten our awareness, strengthen our civic engagement, redouble our efforts in organizing, renew our commitment to coalition and movement building, be unwavering about our stance on equity and justice, and lean into rest, community, and love.
We expanded our support for many grantee partners in November with additional flexible funds, but we recognize, as many of you shared, this is not enough. We committed to doing more then and reaffirm that commitment now.
In 2025, you can expect us to:
- Provide more flexible resources to organizations at the forefront of change efforts, both within and beyond the strategies that we already fund.
- Partner with other funders to catalyze the power of pooled funds for key issues that impact our state.
- Resource mutual aid organizations that respond rapidly to the needs of community members, lightening the burden of responsibility on grantee partners
- Strengthen our approach to capacity building, technical assistance, and wellbeing support, in addition to grant funds made available to partners.
- Host and support more convenings of partners across our landscape.
- Connect with community to ensure we ae truly reflecting our commitment to our values
We recognize the magnitude of the challenges that lie ahead. Yet, we face them not with trepidation, but with renewed courage and a commitment to our partners.. Your tireless efforts inspire us daily, reminding us of the power of collective action and unwavering hope.

En lo que empieza el 2025, anticipamos que habrá inseguridad, retos y oportunidades. Pero algunas cosas siguen innegables: vuestro compromiso a vuestro trabajo, nuestro compromiso a nuestra misión, y ¡nuestra creencia compartida de que un presente y futuro mejor fundados en la igualdad y justica son posibles!
Cada uno de vosotros habéis demostrado qué significa el crear poder comunitario, desbaratar as desigualdades institucionales, y seguir comprometidos al trabajo de trasformar y crear sistemas claves. Este año exigirá de nosotros no solamente nuestra atención, sino nuestro valor, sabiduría y unidad.
Hace llamamiento al Memorial Fund a aumentar nuestra conciencia, fortalecer nuestra participación cívica, redoblar nuestros esfuerzos de organización, renovar nuestro compromiso a la creación de coaliciones y el movimiento, seguir firmes en nuestro posicionamiento frente a la igualdad y justicia, y estrechar la serenidad, comunidad y el amor.
En noviembre ampliamos nuestro apoyo a muchos socios becarios con fondos flexibles adicionales, pero reconocemos, según lo que algunos nos habéis informado, esto no es suficiente. Nos comprometimos entonces a hacer más y reafirmamos ese compromiso ahora.
En el 2025, podéis esperar que nosotros vamos a:
· Proporcionar más recursos flexibles a las organizaciones al frente de los esfuerzos por cambio, dentro y más allá de las estrategias que ya financiamos.
· Asociarnos con otros financiadores para catalizar el poder de los fondos mancomunados enfocados en temas claves que afectan nuestro estado.
· Proporcionar recursos a organizaciones de mutuo apoyo que responden rápidamente a las necesidades de la comunidad, disminuyendo el peso de la responsabilidad de los socios becarios.
· Fortalecer nuestro enfoque en la creación de capacidad, asistencia técnica, y apoyo al bienestar, además de poner fondos becarios a la disposición de nuestros socios.
· Celebrar y apoyar más reuniones de socios dentro de todo nuestro ámbito
· Conectar con la comunidad para asegurarnos de que realmente estamos manifestando nuestro compromiso a nuestros valores.
Reconocemos la magnitud de los retos que vienen. Pero, los afrontamos no con inquietud, sino con una renovación de valor y compromiso a nuestros socios. Vuestros esfuerzos inagotables nos inspiran a diario, recordándonos del poder de la acción colectiva y esperanza inquebrantable.
