Stand Against Racism Grants

The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund invites community members and organizations in Connecticut to apply for small grants through the Director’s Discretionary Fund to support activities and events related to Stand Against Racism, taking place on April 27-30, 2017.

Stand Against Racism is the YWCA’s “signature campaign to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in communities.” This year’s theme is Women of Color Leading Change. Find more information on the YWCA's Stand Against Racism website.

To apply, please send a short letter stating:

  • A brief description of the activity or the event for Stand Against Racism, including a description of the expected participants or intended audience.
  • The date and location.
  • How the activity or event supports the mission of Stand Against Racism, especially this year’s theme.
  • The amount of funds requested.

Preference will be given to community members and organizations that have a history of working on issues related to racial justice. 501(c)(3) status is not required but a fiscal conduit is still required. If needed, the Memorial Fund can match grantees without 501(c)(3) status to fiscal sponsors.

Please submit letters to malvarez@wcgmf.org. The deadline to submit is April 20, 2017.
