Hearing Youth Voices is a youth-led social justice organization in working to create systemic change in the education system in New London, Connecticut. They do this by supporting the development of youth organizers through participatory action research (PAR) projects, intensive political education workshops, and arts-based cultural work. Hearing Youth Voices is committed to building the political power of people of color, queer and transgender folks, undocumented people, and women. Through campaign work, direct action, and art they fight to end the oppressive systems that harm people and communities.

Youth Organizing Program$75,000

Support for their work on the Youth Organizing Program in which they train young people of color as researchers, facilitators, organizers, public speakers, critical thinkers – all with the goal of getting them to analyze the problems they face and identify issues they would like to organize and ultimately change.
